Questions
All questions
Who actually answers this phone number?
An independent local restoration company, reached through our call-tracking line. Not us. We do not answer calls, set prices, or control who is available or how fast they arrive.
What does it cost to call?
Nothing. The company that answers sets its own prices, so ask for a written estimate before you agree to anything.
My pipe froze but has not burst. What do I do?
Keep the faucet open, apply gentle heat such as a hair dryer, heating pad or hot-water towels, never an open flame, and call a licensed plumber if you cannot find, reach or thaw the frozen section.1
Does insurance cover a burst pipe? What about river water?
When is the Boise River most likely to run high?
Ada County says reservoir releases are generally increased between April 1 and July 1 to make room for spring runoff.4
Are you a restoration company or a contractor?
No. This is a free information and referral service. We do no restoration work and hold no contractor registration.
How soon does it need to be dry?
The EPA's guidance is to dry water-damaged areas and items within 24 to 48 hours.5
Will the county help with flooding on my property?
Ada County's FAQ says local agencies protect public roads, buildings and utilities and will not conduct flood response on private property; owners are responsible for their own property.4
What temperature should I leave the heat at when I travel in winter?
The Red Cross says no lower than 55°F.1
Are you connected to the city, Ada County or the water company?
No. We are not affiliated with any utility, government office or insurer. If you see water coming out of a manhole or raw sewage on the ground, Boise Public Works asks you to call 208-608-7200 right away.6
